<description>Kimberly, thanks for your posting on the Starr King Elementary website (in SF). You requested information on starting an immersion program like the new Mandarin Immersion Program we started just 2 years ago. I was one of the parents who initially approached the district about starting the program, and I chaired the planning meetings with the district. Though I could tell you a lot from the perspective of a parent/community member, the SFUSD Multilingual Programs Dept. and members of the Board could provide you with a lot of district-level detail about how this program got started. You could write to me directly via email and I could give you more detail.

I think it&#039;s great Modesto schools are looking into this!

<description>I&#039;m researching starting a global foreign language program in our Modesto City Schools district (33,000 students), K-12.

Could you possibly send me any information you think may help us start a program like yours?

Thank you so much.
