School Tours: Round 2 Dates
We welcome prospective parents to visit Starr King
Tours dates added for Round 2:
Thursday March 18, 9:30-11
Thursday March 25, 9:30-11
Parents should call ahead (415-695-5797) to reserve a spot and indicate which program they are interested in (Mandarin Immersion, General Education, Spanish Bilingual or Special Education). This way, we can be sure to have tour guides on hand who can answer your questions.
On the tour date, sign in and meet outside the school office. A parent-led tour will run from 9:30 to 10:15, followed by the Principal’s talk until 11am. Parents can bring small children, but please be quiet and respectful of the learning that is taking place. Be dressed for outdoors! It can be cold in the morning.
We look forward to meeting you!

We will be moving to SF in May with an upcoming first grader. On our visit in March, we would like to visit your school. How do we go about setting up a tour?
Thanks for the question – I’ve updated the tour information above.
I want to know more about the after school program of Starr King, can you give me more info?
The onsite afterschool program is an Excel program run by the YMCA. The program is free but on a space available basis. If you have specific questions about the program contact Jorge Garcia, Starr King ASP Program Director

The first thing to do is to check out the program. Assuming you’ve come to our tour, then you need to go to the Educational Placement Center downtown. We can give you a sense as to whether spaces might be available, but placement decisions are made centrally in SFUSD
Our program has enrolled 210 students this year. By far the most ever. There will be an increased focus on quality academic options for kids, but enrichment and sports will also remain in place.
