Here are some excerpts from the handbook:
Starr King’s Spring Fling will take place on Saturday, March 19th at the historic Potrero Hill Neighborhood House in the Potrero District of San Francisco. This will be your opportunity to have a great time with your family, other parents, and school staff while raising money to fund programs that make Starr King such an enriching place for our children. We hope to raise over $22,000 via a lively raffle and silent auction where you will have an opportunity to bid on one-of-a-kind items donated by local merchants.
We need your help! We ask that each family contribute in any way they can. We hope that this Family Handbook and FAQs will be a helpful resource. You can also find the information on the bulletin board.

Raffle Details
$500 first prize, $250 second prize, $100 third prize, plus door prizes!
Tickets are $3/each or $10 for a pack of 4. Tickets are available from (1) your homeroom teacher (2) the raffle coordinators (3) at all PTA and school events – more details to come. The class that sells the most tickets will get a prize!
Auction Details
Bidding starts at 1:00pm, check-out at 4:00. Please bring cash or check the day of the event.
How You Can Help:
Families that donate or solicit more than $100 worth of items will receive a token of thanks from the Spring Fling committee.

- Travel: Vacation homes, ski cabins, frequent flyer miles, spas, resorts, get-aways
- Dinners/House Parties: Tequila-tasting party, Indian Feast, Backyard BBQ
- Gift Baskets: Make baskets with a theme
- Outings: Mom’s Mt. Tam hike, boating, sailing, fishing, museum passes, children’s day outings
- Lessons/Crafts: Have you got a hobby or skill you can teach? e.g. Music, cooking, knitting
- Wine Chest: Donate bottles of wine
- Professional Services: Computer service/repair, babysitting, legal services, design services
- Sports/Cultural Events and Tickets: Giants tickets, Opera tickets, can you arrange a private tour of someplace fascinating or exciting?
