1. Do some holiday shopping at Amazon.com

When you go to Amazon.com from a link on this web site, a percentage of your Amazon purchase goes to the Starr King PTA!

(Remember, for this to work you have to go to Amazon from a link on this web site — don’t just type “amazon.com” into your browser.)

2. Connect a card to Escrip.com.

Register your Safeway card, major credit and/or Macy’s card on escrip.com. Escrip will donate 2%-10% of your everyday purchases at hundreds of groceries and stores to our school. All you have to do is spend 10 minutes signing up on escrip.com. If you need help using the site, please call Marie Ciepiela, mother of a kindergartner in Room 111, at 239-6923.

Instructions for registering on escrip.com

1. Have your Safeway, major credit and/or Macy’s cards ready.
2. Log onto escrip.com
3. Click on Welcome
4. Click on Sign up
5. Search for Starr King as an enrolled school by typing in the name or using our Group ID Number, 6573711.
6. Once you have selected Starr King Elementary School, you will be prompted through several pages where you will establish a secure password and register your cards.

To check the status of your escrip account anytime, log onto escrip.com, and click on my escrip.

Please explore the site. You will see that there are many other ways to divert funds to the school.

Escrip.com is a secure web site.

Special note on Safeway Cards. While you can punch in your phone number at the register, you cannot register on escrip.com with your phone number, you must have the number on the face of the red card that was issued to you. If you have lost your card, please get a replacement at the Safeway Customer Service desk and register the new card. (Note from Marie - I no longer had my card and tried to get Safeway to look up my card number at the Customer Service desk. What a nightmare! They basically can’t do it. So it is easiest to just get a new card that will replace you old card. You can continue to use the phone number at check-out with the new card but need the number on your new card to register at escrip.com.)

Whole Foods shopper? If you shop at Whole Foods and pay with a credit or debit card, you can register that card on escrip.com and pick up 3% on all Whole Food Purchases.

While we all love Trader Joes and Costco, they do not participate in the escrip program. But even if you shop infrequently at Safeway and Whole Foods, every little bit helps!

Albertson’s has a different program. If you shop there, go by the main office to pick up a registration form for that membership rewards program.

3. Collect box tops and Campbell’s Soup labels.

Campbell’s Labels for Education. Tear the labels off of a huge number of Campbell food products and bring them to school. This includes all Campbell soups, Franco-American, Pepperidge Farm, V8 beverages, Prego Pasta Sauces and Goldfish! Website for more information is labels4education.com.

General Mills Box Tops for Education. Like the Campbell’s program, all you have to do it tear off the “Box Tops for Education” logos and bring them to school. You will find them on the following products: all General Mills Cereals (Cheerios, etc.); Gogurt, Hamburger Helper, Old El Paso, Nature Valley Granola Bars, Bisquick, Ziploc Bags, Kleenex products, and Hefty garbage bags, among many others. Box Tops and Labels receptacle bags are located on the Parent bulletin board in the cafeteria, in the office and in the Parent Room (Bingalow B).

4. Get school supplies at Office Depot.

5% Back to School Program. When you shop at Office Depot for school supplies just tell the person at the register that you want to donate 5% of your purchase to Starr King (ID# 7001-3997). They will take care of it for you. This program runs periodically throughout the year, but just get into the habit of asking every time.

5. Get a Target REDcard.

If you are a frequent Target shopper, you can apply for either a Target Visa credit card or a Target Card. Every time you use the card in the store, 1% of your purchase total will go to Starr King (1.5% for on-line purchases). Make sure you have the Starr King address when you apply at a Target store or line at target.com. Our address is 1215 Carolina Street, San Francisco, CA 94107.
