As China booms, so does Mandarin in U.S. schools – USATODAY.com

Amazon.com is the hugest online store for books, CDs, and almost anything. It’s like Target, without the traffic. A lot of people use it for their holiday shopping. Now the Starr King PTA has a deal with Amazon.com where, if you go to Amazon from our school website, Amazon will donate up to 10 percent of your purchase price to our PTA!

Starr King students marched for the first time in the Chinese New Year parade in downtown San Francisco. We all had a great time and the kids looked great in their colorful costumes! Here’s a slide show of the evening.

Starr King proudly announces the first Elementary Wellness Center to open in August, 2007.  The center will provide both direct, on-site services as well as advocacy and referral support, all centered around physical, mental and social wellness.  Funding provided in part through the Department of Human Services will allow for the coordination and expansion of many activities and services already offered at Starr King.
